Hmm, I was to hasty, these jars are not available in the current binary
distribution ...

But I made my first newbe error by not searching the mailinglist archive
first. Shame on me!
I copied a mail I found in the archive from Alexander Kandzior below with
the answer to my questions. He posted it on Thu May 29 12:58:01 2003.

about the changed jars:

	mysql.org website

	Apache Jakarta commons project

	No pre-build JAR currently available.
You need to check out the Apache Jakarta Slide project
from the Apache CVS and build jcr.jar from the contents
      of the /proposals/jcrri/src/javax directroy.

Alternativly, check out the "branch_5_0_x" which is the update branch of
the 5.0 release. This should run with the jars from the 5.0.0

Best Regards,

Indeed, I will find these in the binary distribution but then I end up with
already 3 "repositories" where I have to get all necessary files. And who
says that al these repositories are in sync with each other (correct jar

Yes I'm suspicious ;-))))

The commons stuff can be found in the under the Commons project in
As for the jcr.jar I dunno.
I think the binary distribution comes with the necessary files anyway.
